Woven

As much as is possible, I am jumping up and down! I’m cheering for you! I’m celebrating for us! Because, we finished a project, y’all. And, I don’t care if you were here for all 1,000 (let’s be honest, it felt like it at times) days, or if you just checked in periodically, you are getting credit. This was a big thing to take on, and we did it.

In celebration, you may be expecting wise words from me. And, if not “wise words” you’re most definitely expecting a lot of words since I don’t always know how to be quiet and “just go.” However, I like to keep you on your toes. So, today, things are going to be different. I will close out this study with next to nothing from me, and everything I could possibly find on Mrs. Angie Smith.

Earlier this year, Annie F. Downs interviewed Angie. This interview is so special, girls. I hope you’ll listen to all of it. Now, your brain is going to get a break, because these two friends talk and enjoy one another a lot more than they talk about Woven. I kind of feel like that’s exactly what we need; good conversation and laughs with friends. I just beg of you to rest and enjoy.

After listening, if you need a powerful way to close out your study in your journal, why not consider interceding in prayer….

For Angie, because she has a gift! As you heard in the podcast, she doesn’t always know how to use it. Other times, she’d prefer to bury away and not use it. We need her, though. Spend some time praying for God’s direction and protection over her and her family.

For Annie F. Downs, because she’s been called to remind people to have fun! She will be dismissed, ignored, and questioned for her devotion to FUN. I’m sure of that. I’m also sure that our God is fun, and the darker our world gets, the more we need His people reminding us of God’s fun side.

For me if you want, because I’m never too prideful to request prayer. So, if this summer was personal and encouraging for you in any way and you want to use your intercessory time to pray for me, I will not turn it away. In fact, I’ll say, “yes, please, and thank you so much!”

Why am I suggesting this? Well, ladies, because we’ve studied God’s story for 12 weeks now. At the end of it, I’m completely certain that we are running our leg of God’s story. We are living obediently in God’s calling for our lives or we are missing out on the opportunities He’s given. Praying for the people that are leading us can remind us to think about who we are leading. I think that is important, because we all need to be running with endurance the race set before us (Hebrews 12:1).

What if Angie hadn’t written?

What if Annie wasn’t fun?

What if Angie’s assistant hadn’t obeyed God’s call to service?

What if it’s time to pick up your baton and go! I’m believing that you will!

Dear God, I pray that You have lit a spark in each one of our hearts with a conviction as to what we can do to fully cooperate in Your plan for our lives. I pray that it is so clear and that we can’t say, “N0.”
