Woven - Summer Study

Ladies, I must confess that today I'm bringing you a sermon with so much excitement and a little bit of anxiety.

I'm excited, because I've know for several weeks that this is the sermon I wanted to share after the crucifixion and resurrection. At that point, I had no idea that Angie was going to devote the last three pages of the chapter to Thomas. It was a perfect ending to the chapter, and I believe this is a perfect ending to our week.

I have a little anxiety, because the pastor I'm sharing today is one of those pastors (there are many now) that's been in the news lately with the claim of being a "false prophet."

I'd rather Soul Sisters not become just another spot on social media where division escalates and opinions are thrown like weapons. I'm not attempting to start any kind of debate. I'm just sharing the message of a pastor that (for the last 7 years) has taught me so very much about what a true love for Jesus and His Word will do to a congregation across the country and the world. His passion and teaching have changed my life. His message on Easter Sunday affected me deeply this year, so I wanted to share it with you.

Now, if Pastor Steven is not a pastor that you agree with or want to listen to, I encourage you to do what I believe we should all do on social media when we hold to different teachings than the poster.... scroll on by and find someone different to listen to. I bet you can google your favorite pastor or teacher along with "Easter message" and find an amazing sermon to watch that will beautifully wrap up our week of study.

You have the freedom to do that, because Jesus asked us to be unified even in our differences. Regardless of who you listen to or how you choose to study, I hope you'll use the comment section to share how our study has influenced you this week. We've covered a lot of ground again. Please take yourself back to page 14 in your book before you finish for the day and trace your fingers along the thread naming what each picture stands for.

Aren't you proud of yourself? I am proud of you!

Dear God, Thank you for Jesus! Thank you for His life and death and life again. Because He lives, we can live, too. Help us to remember that when our Enemy threatens us. Jesus overcame death and the grave, so we are held back by nothing. What an amazing gift!
