Today is the day we've been planning for in my home for a while. My oldest, Caleb, is off to college. So, while you're doing your study today, say a little prayer for me. I'm excited for Caleb. It's time for him to move up and on. But, he'll be doing it 9 hours from me, and we will be one short in our house. Emotions have been high, so I'm asking that you pray I keep it together for the sake of Caleb's reputation in his new dorm. I'd really like to NOT be the story everyone talks about driving home this weekend.
Your assignment today is simple, but it won't necessarily be easy. Finish reading chapter 12 of Woven, pages 215 through 232.
In your journal, just write! I have a number of things I'd like to ask you to write about. I have so many questions that I could use to begin the process. But, I believe we should all be left to ourselves as we read about Jesus' death and resurrection. And, since we all have our own, personal relationship with Jesus, I just know you're going to want to write out some things that are just for you and him in this moment.
As you close out the chapter, read the special "shout out" to Thomas. We'll be hearing more about him tomorrow.
God, we simply can't read about the nature of Jesus' death without wincing at the pain. We don't wince because we know the pain He endured. We wince, because we know we caused it. I want to turn away. I want to hide. I don't want to be reminded of the awful nature of it all. But, I need it, because it's a reminder of the love that sent Jesus to Earth and the cross and the love that held Him there. Cause a welling of gratitude for Your great love to spring up in us today!
