Thankful In All Circumstances...

Thursday,November 11, 2021 Thankful….in All Circumstances Kim Purvis Speed Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father through him.

How do I thank thee? Let me count the ways. Wow!! Where do I even begin? 2021 has been the most incredible year! Even though the world is in such turmoil and there has been so much change, struggle, loss and sadness, in my personal life I have been blessed beyond my wildest imagination. This is truly a gift from God and an answered prayer! After many years of failed relationships and struggling to have enough confidence in myself to realize what I deserve in a spouse, I poured my heart out and pleaded with God. Here is my prayer…. 3/5/2018 Dear God, You know my heart, Lord. You know all my hopes and desires! Dear God, I come to you and ask humbly for a relationship – a soulmate. I ask that you provide for me a mate that is honest, kind, and loyal. I ask for a man of character, a man of God. I ask for someone that treats me with respect, love, and kindness. I ask for someone that makes me smile and laugh, someone that builds me up and compliments me. I ask for a man with financial stability. I ask for a man that loves my son Harrison. I ask for a man that likes to travel and be around people, someone that likes to get together with friends. I ask for a relationship with passion and chemistry. You promise, God, that if I remain in You and You remain in me, that I can ask whatever I wish, and it will be done. You promise that if I have faith as small as a mustard seed, that I can say to the mountain to move, and it will be done. You promise that nothing is impossible for you! Lord, I ask this in Your name. I pray this will glorify You! Above all, I pray that Your will be done! In Jesus name, Kim (Amen) I prayed this prayer over and over and over. In the Fall of 2019 (over a year after I wrote that prayer), I met Stewart Speed. On 9/17/2021 I married Stewart - the love of my life, the perfect man for me, the exact one I prayed about – my soulmate. I have come to know a love that is fun, fulfilling, protective, full of laughter and above all centered around God. I have a husband that has more confidence in me than I do in myself. Stewart truly helps me be a better person. And with this marriage and relationship, have come so many additional blessings: blessings that I would have never imagined to pray for! I have to give thanks and credit to this group of Soul Sisters for all the encouragement, prayers, and guidance. I attribute my spiritual growth, for which I am so grateful, to God and this group. Because of Soul Sisters, I know I have to go to the word of God for living water. I know I am worthy of love, because He said so, and I am better equipped to run the race and fight the good fight. My knowledge of the Bible has grown exponentially (#Woven). I may have met Stewart, but I don’t think this relationship would have thrived without my Soul Sisters. I can’t begin to express the gratitude and thankfulness I have for the outpouring of love I have felt this year. I am so thankful for the friends and family that came a long way to attend the wedding, for the many friends and even just acquaintances who sent congratulations and well wishes, and for the many people that prayed with me and for me before, during and after our wedding. I have never felt so much LOVE and my heart has never been so full! In addition, I am incredibly thankful for the relationship Stewart has with my son Harrison. He has been such a strong role model and encourager for Harrison. Harrison loves Stewart and respects him. He is thriving and having a wonderful experience in college (although he needs to call his mom more – Ha). When I prayed about what to include in this post, these three things came to mind, I am thankful for Soul Sisters, spiritual growth, and LOVE! But the greatest of these is LOVE! Dear God, Thank you so much for this season of Thanksgiving where we truly reflect on all of our many blessings. Thank you for hearing our prayers and answering them. Thank you for loving us despite our shortcomings. And thanks for the greatest gift of all, Your son Jesus who died so that we may live. In Jesus’ name, Amen Reschedule Post Post Now
