THANKFUL IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES: Mayce DelValle
Genesis 9:16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.
Did you know that depending on who you ask, Alexa, Siri, Google, you will find that God has over 3000 promises to us! In one search it showed more than 7000!! Ladies, at the very least that’s more than a promise a day for YEARS to come. I am not sure about you but THAT not only excites me but comforts me as well.
God will never fail, God is always good, God is always with me, God is faithful, God will never leave me or forsake me with words like that jumping off the page with every turn how can I not want to rejoice and shout from the mountaintops. With each promise, we are reminded of the true strength of our Lord. The magnitude of what he is offering.
When my son was little, maybe around 3 years old, every time we saw a rainbow, he would say to me, mommy it’s going to be a good day mommy. In the midst of a storm, God has a beautiful way of letting us know….it’s going to be a good day. As someone who did not grow up in the church and didn’t read the bible until about two years ago, I too had the innocence of my young son that a rainbow represented “ a good day”. Now as a Christian, that rainbow means so much more than a good day! That rainbow represents a good life…a great life…a life, abundant. No longer do I imagine the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow…I know that the “pot of gold” is already in my heart through the love I have for our God.
Dear God, thank you for the gift of your promises, each and every day. Lord may we never lose sight of all that you have to offer us in this world and in heaven. In the midst of our storms no matter how dark, no matter how gloomy, may we always be reminded of your light, your peace, your joy, your mercy, and your grace. Every time we see a rainbow may we know that is a message from you, a reminder of all that you are, the promises that you have made and allow us to live an abundant life and praise your name. God, may we relish in your promises and live a life that would honor you. In your precious name we pray, amen.
