Week 4 Focus: Favorite Places

“Sing for joy, you heavens, for the Lord has done this; shout aloud, you earth beneath.

Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees, for the Lord has redeemed Jacob, he displays his glory in Israel.” Isaiah 44:23

Today, I am thankful for… specific places.

Oh, the PLACES we’ve gone. Each one of us have been to great places, near or far, our journeys have led us to specific places. Of all those places, can you select a favorite? That’s not easy for me. I am thankful for the opportunities I’ve had to tour, visit and live in multiple cities and states. I’ve been able to experience different cultures, landscapes, sites and adventures as I’ve traveled across countries and even right here in Nashville, TN! We have lakes, mountains, forests, vineyards, farms and even city life to its fullest.

It’s places that I make memories with family and friends that warm my heart the most. It’s places where we retreat, serve, love, play and laugh together that I treasure…like being together in the mountains, on the lake or beach, in a boat, at an amusement park or in our homes. All places with fond memories I’ll treasure forever. All places where God’s presence is mighty. (Yes, even Dollywood where I walked in and saw Isaiah 40:31 in large print when I had just claimed that verse for the week.)

As you stop and reflect on the places you’ve gone. Think about the places you enjoyed (or still enjoy) the most and then praise God for his goodness and glory. Sing for joy. Let him know what an honor and privilege it is to get to experience his lands and places, his creations, your favorite places. Oh thank you Lord for the PLACES we go!!

Heavenly Father,

We thank you for allowing us to benefit from the beauty of all the places you created, and we get to experience. Your majestic name fills the world! The heavens and earth and everything in it all belong to you. We are blessed to be the recipients of all the beauty that surrounds us and the memories we get to create while we are on this earth. We will sing to you as long as we live. May our thoughts and actions be pleasing to you no matter the places we go! All glory and honor to you! Amen
