Thankful Hearts

Week 1 Focus: Relationships

Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking bread in their homes. They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47

Today, I am thankful for my relationship with other believers.

I am praising God for my COMMUNITY. My community includes friends and small groups from church, lifelong friends, colleagues at work, neighbors, family, my tailgate crew, and my Soul Sisters who I connect with online and on land. These are people who I grow my faith with, serve with, minister with, share life with and DO life with. They encourage me to live a righteous life; they lift me up when I fall, they are honest and real with me. They believe in me and love me no matter what. And, I love them and would do anything in the world for them. I want to walk hand in hand with them along their faith journey and wherever God leads.

Being around other believers gives us the chance to help each other through peaks and valleys, to encourage each other to do good deeds and to learn from each other as we grow in our faith. It strengthens us and often reminds us why we believe. Having a community with relationships like this is what God asks us to do AND it’s good for the soul!

Who can you give thanks for today? Thank God for them and take the time to connect with at least one person in your community of believers to let them know how thankful you are to have them in your life.

Exploring Scripture: Acts 2:46; Hebrews 10:24-25; Colossians 3:16

Dear Heavenly Father,

What a true blessing to have fellow believers to walk life with every day. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You know exactly what we need, and you know exactly who we need in our lives. You never cease to amaze us with how you connect us to others.

Please open our hearts (and eyes) to any new relationships you want us to make and let us foster those bonds just as you intend. In your son’s name we pray. Amen
