Songs for the Season: Day 3

Wednesday, December 9 Songs for the Season—Day 3 Joseph's Lullaby - Mercy Me Matthew 1:18-22 Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Lyrics: Go to sleep my Son This manger for your bed You have a long road before You Rest Your little head Can You feel the weight of Your glory? Do You understand the price? Or does the Father guard Your heart for now So You can sleep tonight? I believe the glory of Heaven Is lying in my arms tonight But Lord, I ask that He for just this moment Simply be my child https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0BTIRfEE1c Dear Lord, I am humbled by this thought in these lyrics: "I believe the glory of Heaven is lying in my arms tonight." To think, just as Joseph and Mary tenderly held you 2000 years ago, we can grace-fully hold you in our hearts. King of Glory, thank you for leaving Heaven's throne, for entering the world, for humbling yourself as an infant, for becoming like us, all for the sake of saving us from our sins so that we can be reconciled to you. Again and again, we worship and adore you. Amen Attachments area Preview YouTube video Joseph's Lullaby Joseph's Lullaby
