Serve, Share & Shine-Act 6
Well Soul Sisters, we are nearing the end of our Summer Series-SERVE, SHARE & SHINE! What did you think? This was our first “weekend” series dedicated to outreach and so I really hope it has been encouraging, inspiring and perhaps gave you a new perspective on going out into the world to be the light of Christ!
These last two weeks for ACT 6, will focus on ALL PEOPLE and ALL ACTS OF KINDNESS! Let me ask you a couple questions...
What causes are close to your heart?
When you get that nudge from the Holy Spirit, what and who is it for?
Our answers will all be different but the key is...let's ACT on it. Our earthly time is short, let's not miss an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus!
I personally love doing random acts of kindness. (I think I missed my calling of being a spy because I absolutely love to watch in secret when they find the surprise of kindness! .) Dayna Curtis Moseley and I have been incorporating acts of kindness during Lent for the past 12 years and we love sharing a little Jesus kindness with who God puts in our path. Some very special recollections I have of doing acts of kindness include taping quarters to all the washers/dryers at a laundry mat, pulling down the diaper changer in a restaurant and leaving some diapers and wipes, writing thank you notes and leaving with a bag of goodies for the Amazon driver, dropping off small vases of flowers to a behavioral health facility with my teenage daughter and I have some new friendships that were born out of an act of kindness! What about you?
Ladies, there are literally hundreds of ideas of what you can do, the key is to pray first and let the Lord show you. Trust that each act of kindness makes an impact, God knows your heart and sees it all! We never will know the heavenly impact we are making on earth BUT as we heard Beth Moore say yesterday in the video, Gospel math is multiplication! We can trust that He takes our faithful acts of kindness and multiples them exponentially with a beautiful ripple effect.
Heavenly Father, please continue to shape me into someone who encourages and is kind to all people. Show me what it means to do good to all people, and then help me to live this out. Make me aware of the opportunities to serve others that You place around me, and help me to act on them. I want every area of my life to reflect Your kindness and compassion. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
