Remembering God's Provision

God's provision includes people who care enough to teach the Bible.

“You are the body of the Anointed One, and each of you is a unique and vital part of it. God has placed in the church the following: First apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then those with gifts of miracles, gifts of divine healing gifts of revelation knowledge, gifts of leadership, and gifts of different kinds of tongues.” 1 Corinthians 12:27-28

What a GIFT! Aren’t you thankful for teachers, pastors, and Bible study leaders? Since we are in a Thanksgiving study, I thought it would be a great time for us to pause and consider our favorite teachers and preachers.

You probably have a favorite teacher right now… someone in your life that is leading you well in this season. Also, you’ve had a full life of growing with the Lord. I bet there are many teachers and leaders that have invested in your life for good. Take some time today to remember them. Pray for them. If you are able, reach out and thank them in person.

When I was in elementary school (specifically 2nd through 4th grades), I was in Sunday school classes led by teams of adults. They were so invested in student lives. They taught us weekly. They encouraged us to study and learn on our own. Every Sunday, these teachers loved us by guiding us. I’m guessing they didn’t consider themselves Bible scholars, but their investment is part of my story with God. I’m remembering these teachers and many more today, and I’m extremely thankful.

I hope you are, too. Regardless of how old you are or how long you've been a Christian, I hope you have a list of people who have loved you by teaching you. And, I'm praying remembering them leads you to gratitude for what God provided through them.

Our Father, we have chosen to spend some time remembering You, Your care, Your instruction, and Your invitations. Where would we be without You? When we take time to pause and remember who You are to us, what You’ve done for us, and how You’re always inviting us into more, we can’t help but give thanks. Keep on caring, teaching, and inviting, because we don’t want to miss out on abundant life with You. Since You are always giving, we promise to remember. Amen.
