"Practically Divine" - Week 8

Here we are, ladies, at the end of our summer book club. We have had such a fun and challenging study together. I have enjoyed every word we’ve read in “Practically Divine” and in the book of Mark.

To end our time together, I’ve found a short sermon (actually a commencement sermon) from Becca. It’s only 13 minutes. In it, Becca shares more of her heart for the Gospel and for making a difference in God’s world.

Honestly, I can’t really make these 13 minutes apply to our reading for the past two days. The reason I’m sharing it is because it’s a challenge.

I love Jesus so much, and it was hard to spend an entire summer reading a book that didn’t actually name Him. BUT, He was on every, single page. In Matthew 25:40, Jesus said,

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine,

you did for me.

So, I’m sharing a little more of Becca’s passion for love and justice, because in it I believe we find JESUS. We can know all the facts and details of Jesus’ life and mission, but when we know Him, we will act with love and justice.

I need that reminder! I need the challenges Becca issues. So, enjoy this little sermon. Sit and ponder all of the phrases she’s shared with us. Ask God to lead you to the fight He has chosen for you. I will do the same.

I will see you back here on Monday morning for some direction on how we will finish up the book and the rest of August.

Also, don’t forget to mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 3rd, 12:00 (CST) when we will have Becca Stevens live on Zoom. I cannot wait to hear her share with us in person. What a treat! Thank you, Anne Ayers for making this happen.

Love y’all! Have a wonderful weekend.
