"Practically Divine" - Week 6

Y’all! It’s our 6th week already. We are moving so quickly through our summer study which means we are moving quickly through the summer.

This week’s chapter is on grace. What a beautiful word! It’s the very basis of our Gospel story. It doesn’t matter how old you were, what kind of family you were in, or what kind of life you’d lived when you accepted Jesus, GRACE was the initiator of that encounter.

I thought it would be great to begin our week with some of our favorite verses about grace.

It is by grace you have been save through faith - it is not of ourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works so that no one can boast!

Ephesians 2:8-9

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.

Psalm 103:8

For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

Romans 6:14

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ.

Romans 3:23-24

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Hebrews 4:16

Our chapter is a little longer today, so let’s cut it in half. We will read the first half today and finish up tomorrow.

Read pages 91through the top paragraph of 101, which is the first half of chapter 5. Then, reflect back on our grace-filled verses. Spend time in a prayer of gratitude that we are forever “bound by grace” in Jesus Christ.

God, thank you, thank you, thank you for Jesus! What a gift! There would be no life apart from Him. Give us eyes to see and hearts to understand more and more of Your grace this week. Amen.
