Music and the Messiah

Monday. December 20 Music and the Messiah Day 16

Isaiah 35:3-6 Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong, fear not! Behold your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God, he will come and save you.” Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped; then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute shall sing for joy. For waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert.

Luke 2:16-19 And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart.

Mary Did You Know – sung by Danny Gokey

“Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you.”

The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak the praises of the lamb!

Mary, did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is Heaven's perfect Lamb?
That sleeping child you're holding is the great I am

Heavenly Father, We stand in awe as women who cannot imagine what it was like for Mary to give birth to the savior of the world. Only in your perfect sweet way would a tiny baby born in a stable become the King of Kings. How quickly we can forget this miracle. As Christmas week begins and the busy-ness gets busier , keep us mindful of why He came and help us to focus on the reason we celebrate. We pray that each one of us is intentional to spend time each day worshiping you. Amen
