March to the Cross - Jesus: Intentional King

Jesus: Intentional King

Focus: Jesus makes a divine appointment with a Samaritan woman.

Today’s verses:

Isaiah 55:1 “Every one who thirsts, come to the waters…”

John 4:4,6 Now (Jesus) had to pass through Samaria…being wearied by His journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

John 4:13-14 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John 4:25-26 The woman said, “I know that Messiah (called Christ) is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us,” Then Jesus declared, “I who speak to you am He.”

Revelation 22:17 …”Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

Sister, come on...can you even imagine? There's this lady, huffing and puffing and doing one of her daily chores, going to get the water. A there's this Jewish man, interrupting her routine asking for some water. Little did she know that through her frustrations she would find her faith. The Messiah was there, intentionally, waiting for her, wanting to bless her and transform her life! He was THE LIVING WATER for her soul and He changed her life forever! She left the well much differently than she arrived and she wanted to tell everyone she knew about Jesus.

Isn't He doing the same thing for us every day? Every morning when we wake up, we can use the visuals of this story to remind us that Jesus is waiting, with intention, for us. We can find Him in the routines of our daily life. He wants to teach us, guide us, to bless us with HIs Living Water and transform our lives. And, He wants us to go and tell others about Him.

The questions I was tasked to pose to you all is this...If you were the woman at the well, what would your response be to Jesus’ invitation of living water? But , Sister, you are the woman at the well! Right? So...how will you react to His invitation today?

Dear Lord, Thank You so much for intentionally showing up and showing out in our lives! Thank You for being our Living Water. Lord, when we are thirsty and in need, thank you for always being meeting us right where we are. May the routines of our day never keep us from seeing you "by the well". And Lord, help us tell others about our daily, transformational encounters with You! In Jesus' name and for The Father's glory. Amen.
