"Looking for Lovely"

Every summer I have at least a couple of moments where I can’t believe the timing of our book choice and the specific reading at certain moments. This is the week that it’s happened for me this summer.

Annie and her crew at the podcast take the entire month of July off to Sabbath. The podcast will still air during the month but Annie won’t be actively recording. In honor of the month of rest, nothing airs during the first full week of July which is this week. In preparing for that, her interview this past Friday covered the topic of resting and pausing.

I enjoyed every word of this podcast, and I walked away with so many thoughts about Sabbath, rest, and Jesus in the Garden. Also, I was completely floored that Annie’s real time podcast the week before we read her chapter on pausing to persevere was on rest in the Garden.

I just love how God works. Without knowing what is going on in each of your lives, I feel certain we can all benefit from this conversation. As you listen, I encourage you to consider your July. Do you need an overall Sabbath rest? Is there something you’re in the middle of but you’re tempted to quit? Maybe, you just need to take the month to pause. Possibly, you walk away from this interview with something completely different in mind.
