Journeying with Resurrected Jesus

Worship Wednesday
As we continue our journey with the Resurrected Jesus, let’s reflect on the fact that the disciples on the road to Emmaus walked with disappointment after the resurrection, and we will too. It’s a fact. We will all have disappointment, discouragement, and distress at some point. Often, we may think our lives have been devastated when something happens in a way that we didn’t plan or hope for. We can trust in our Savior and know that’s not true. His way is the best way….good things are to come.
This song, Before the Morning, by Josh Wilson, will remind you that even if things aren't going your way, you have to believe that God has bigger and better plans for you. Things are happening on purpose for a purpose.
“Maybe, there are things you can't see
And all those things are happening
To bring a better ending
Some day, some how, you'll see, you'll see
Would dare you, would you dare, to believe,
That you still have a reason to sing,
'cause the pain you've been feeling,
Can't compare to the joy that's coming.”
“The pain you’ve been feeling is the dark before the morning.”
Today, let us be glad and rejoice in our resurrected Jesus. Let us sing the praises of His name. Do you have a worship song for this Wednesday that you can share?
Jesus, thank you for journeying with us. Sometimes we don't recognize You, but we believe You are here. There are times when we are sad, disappointed, and even a little lost in this world, because the expectations of our humanity get in the way. When You make yourself very evident, though, our hearts burn within us. Will you help us to recognize that and trust it. Your presence can make us brave. Today, we commit ourselves to You. We want to be transformed by Your presence in our lives and Your power in our bodies. We belong to You, and that Truth makes us glad. Amen.
