I will bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; for You have magnified Your word according to all Your name. Psalm 138:2

God’s name and His Word reveal so much about God, his existence, greatness, power, wisdom, lovingkindness, truth and so much more. Yes, God’s name is supreme above all names, above all things; but in our lesson today it is clear that both God’s name and His Word should be exalted.

His word is the revelation of his name and who He is. We should revere God’s Word in a way that leads us to worship in awe and amazement. When we delight in His Word and meditate on it there’s a depth of intimacy that God has designed for us to experience. He wants us to get to know Him and how His heart beats. He wants us to know him, trust Him and magnify (or exalt) His name and Word.

I encourage you to meditate on God’s Word day and night (Psalm 1:2). Show Him reverence. Pray His name and His Word over all the people and the bold requests you have on your prayer list today. Exalt Him like never before!!

Dear Righteous Father in Heaven,

We exalt your name and your Word above all things. It is our desire to grow closer to you, dear Lord, as we meditate on your words that you give us in the Bible. We want to claim your promises and walk in your ways. We ask that you form and transform our thoughts and actions by your holy Word. We bow down to you. You are indeed Above All!! In your son’s name we pray. Amen.
