Journey of Prayer - Day 15

Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord before the new court, and he said, “O Lord, the God of our fathers, are You not God in the heavens? And are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against you. …Now behold, the sons of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir…(are) coming to drive us out…O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.” 2 Chronicles 20:5-13

What a week this has been! It’s been an important week in our country, and it’s been an important week in our prayer lives. I believe the prayers we’ve prayed this week along with the scripture Chris has led us to study and receive are doing powerful things in the heavenlies. I can’t think of a better way to end this week than with our own personal praise sessions.

I want to challenge you to sit, look at your prayer list, and listen to/sing these praise songs. Journal anything and everything the Lord leads you to pray or think on. I’m convinced we don’t listen enough during our prayer time with God. What could He be saying to us today?

Although I didn’t share many of my thoughts in this post, I promise to comment with some of my personal praise time notes. I would love to hear yours too.

Prevailing God, You are our God, and You are mighty, powerful, and full of all that we need. Open our eyes today to see You more clearly. Help us to catch a vision for a little of what You’re up to in our lives and all around us. We confess that we get sidetracked by all of the things we don’t know. We try to focus on how we can fix all of the obstacles. You’ve got that! Rescue us from ourselves by showing us Your grace, Your love, and Your victory over everything that causes defeat here on earth. Our praise is our greatest weapon. Cause us to rejoice in all circumstances.
