Journey of Prayer - Day 7
Tuesday, January 12, 2021
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, “Thus you shall bless the sons of Israel. You shall say to them: ‘The Lord bless you, and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.’ So they shall invoke My name on the sons of Israel, and I then will bless them.” Numbers 6:24-27
Today, I encourage you to keep praying boldly over the prayers you put before God when we started this prayer journey 7 days ago. As you pray, picture God holding your sweet face and looking into your eyes. His word tells us that He takes pleasure in us simply because we are his. He is smiling and taking delight in you. He loves how he made you and has a purpose for his unique masterpiece. Imagine the true peace radiating from his hands into your heart. Feel the sense of belonging. He hears you and knows your heart. He is your Heavenly Father.
As you pray over your prayer requests, also keep in mind that God tells us that he will be gracious. Isaiah 30:18 says, “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion.” He has compassion for us because he is our creator and we belong to him. Think about how earthly parents provide for and nurture their children. They care deeply for them and provide what is necessary for their wellbeing. They also give gifts that are unique to each child. Our Father in Heaven does the same thing AND more. He provides everything we need to grow and prosper. His gifts are unique and personalized for each of his children, even if we don’t recognize or deserve it. He is gracious with his unconditional love and mercy. His love never fails and he is FULL of compassion.
Hold tight to the vision of God delighting in you and giving you peace. Feel his presence.
Dear Gracious Father,
We give thanks that you make your face shine upon us and shower us with undeserved favor. We pray in faith over your promises and ask that you do beautiful things in our heart as we walk this prayer journey with fervor all to glorify you. Amen
