Day 11: Forty Day Journey of Prayer

Day 11: Forty Day Journey of Prayer

January 18, 2021

But (Jacob) said, “I will not let go until you bless me.” Genesis 32:26

(for the full story, take time to read Genesis 32: 9-32)

Have you ever had a time or two of “wrestling it out” with the Lord. Maybe you’re there now: Questioning, crying out, doubting, believing , and circling back around to each one of these over and over again. It truly can be like a wrestling match - very exhausting , not knowing the outcome while you are in the thick of it.

Just like Jacob, my wrestling with the Lord has been very intense. It’s been painful, confusing, and all those things I listed above until the match ends. The beauty that has come from these times is encased in a deeper knowledge of strong faith reminding me who my Savior is and how much I am loved by Him. In the end, it makes every single unpleasant moment worth it. The more experience I have being a wrestler, the more I am able to hold onto the faith of trusting it will all work for the good and glory of the Lord and will grow me as a believer. Even though my circumstances may change, I know I am better off. I see that GOD is the One who blesses me beyond my little mind’s measure. He is big enough and tough enough to take on my doubt and troubles all the while loving me just the way I need.

Let’s believe today He is a God that wants to give. At this point in this journey it may seem a little repetitious that we keep writing down these requests over and over. As frivolous or simple as your prayers may seem, keep praying them. You may be the ONLY one praying over these people or circumstances. You may be praying for someone who is not familiar with the power of prayer. He wants to hear what we have to say and He wants to give to us. Let today be a faith builder in your life knowing He is waiting to hear and He wants to know your heart! May our faith increase as we wrestle it out and may our knowledge of His character grow. Move out of the way Satan, we are headed straight towards our Blessing!

Dear Giving God,

We claim that You are hearing our requests and each one is important to You. We will keep knocking because you tell us to. You never tire of hearing from us and You delight in our asking. Father, we don't want to let go of You knowing that it’s love that binds us together. So gracious Father, please bless each one of these requests. Each day multiply our faith as we travel this journey together growing closer to You as we pray. In your name, Amen.
