Christmas Devotional

Who is this Jesus?

Jesus is the Master Teacher

…and his name will be called Wonderful Counselor… Isaiah 9:6

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, glory of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Jesus said, “Come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my load is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus said, “You call me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am.” John 13:13

Make me know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me. For you are the God of my salvation; for you, I wait all the day long. Psalm 25:4-5

My Child,

I am the Master Teacher. Read my word and seek to know me as “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). In so doing, you will find peace and rest in your soul. Come to me. Hear me say, as your Wise Counselor, “This is the way, walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21).

Dear Lord,

Help us to sit at the foot of the Master every day! You know our path! You want what is best for us, in both the hills and the valleys. Cause us to cling to your word in every step we take, trusting you in the unknown, and celebrating you in your timely revelations. Help us to realize that walking with you as our teacher and guide is the greatest adventure we could possibly take. Amen.
