ACTS of the Apostles, Part 2
Learning How to be Daring and Dynamic
Read Acts 20:1-12
Focus Verse: Acts 20:11
And when Paul had gone up and had broken bread and eaten, he conversed with them a long while, until daybreak, and so departed.
This passage illustrates Paul’s dedication and passion for sharing the Good News…no matter what! He was speaking late into the night when a boy who had been listening to him became drowsy and died when he fell from a the 3-story window. Miraculously Paul, through Christ’s power, went down and brought him back to life. In spite of this accident, OR maybe, because of this miracle and the attention it got, Paul then went back upstairs and continued to speak all night to the crowd about Jesus. Paul had such a fervor for the Lord everywhere he went.
There are so many lessons from our passage today. One thing that stood out to me from this message is that God is showing us that we need to expect some changes in our plans, but we must not give up on our mission. God’s plans are perfect. Ours are not. His mighty power can work in us and through us. We must be dedicated and obedient even in the midst of obstacles. Never giving up on our calling.
God worked a great miracle that night, and He is still a miracle working God today!
What about you? Did anything stand out to you?
Dear Heavenly Father,
When something important is going on, please help us recognize that divine moment and don’t let us miss out on an opportunity to share YOU. We want to pivot on a path if and when we need to. Let us have fervor for sharing your love and being obedient to your call no matter the risk. We desire to be daring and dynamic so that others will see you in us.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
