Acts - A Way to Pray

Psalm 33:18-22

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.

A Prayer using the above Scripture and ACTS

Adoration:

God you are Deliverer! You are our Helper and Shield. Your name is holy, great, and wonderful. Our hearts can hope in Your steadfast love.

Confession:

I confess that my heart is prone to forget this greatness. My soul doesn't always fear You as I should. Please forgive me for the ways I refuse to wait for Your timing, Your grace, and Your perfect provision. My flesh wants to rush the process and control outcomes.

Thanksgiving:

I'm so thankful that my actions don't change Yours. That is amazing to me. Your love is steadfast even when I am not. Thank you for making my heart glad even in the most difficult of circumstances. I'll never be able to adequately thank you for Your help and provision.

Supplication:

Today, I want to specifically pray for my family. Create a healthy fear of You within our hearts. Strengthen our resolve to trust You with our whole hearts. Remind us today that You are our perfect helper, provider, and shield. Pour out your steadfast love upon us and cause us to see it and feel it.

Use these verses and ACTS to write your own personal prayer in your journal

Heavenly Father, what an honor it is to be able to pray Your Word over our lives. When we pray scripture, we can be sure that we are praying in Your will. What a gift! If any of my sisters are losing hope, experiencing doubt, or in desperate need of deliverance for any reason today, will You please use the words of this Psalm to remind us that our job is to wait and trust in Your steadfastness. Your job is to faithfully act, and You always do. Amen.
