ACTS: A Way to Pray

Psalm 63:1-5

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips.

Adoration:

Heavenly Father, You are my God! In my deepest self, I thirst for You as if I were in a dry desert, and You quench my thirst. You always know exactly what I need. You even meet needs I’m not aware of. I worship You and lift my hands in genuine praise because Your love flows steadily into me, filling me up to overflowing. Your love is refreshing, empowering, and better than life itself!

Confession:

Forgive me, Lord, for looking to the world or to people when I am spiritually thirsty. They can’t quench my thirst. Only You can. I have no excuse because I have already experienced Your incredible love through Jesus. I have seen Your power and glory because You rescued me and transformed my life. Every day Your Holy Spirit moves mountains in my life. Forgive me for not appreciating and tapping into Your constant provision.

Thanksgiving:

Thank you, God, for always receiving me when I come to You. You have adopted me as Your child and constantly satisfy my mind, body and soul with good things. Being in Your Presence, being flooded with Your love, is better than life itself! Joy bubbles up from my spirit and becomes songs of thanksgiving to You!

Supplication:

God, I want to thirst for You continually. I still find myself trying to satisfy my thirst with worldly things. Let me catch myself and immediately turn to You. Let me earnestly seek Your face because I know that You are the only One whose love can satisfy me and bring me Joy. In Jesus’ Name.
