ACTS: A Way to Pray

Titus 3 3-7
For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hatred by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving-kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Adoration:
Dear Heavenly Father, I am overwhelmed with your goodness and grace! You sent your Son into the darkest of dark to shine the most radiant Light! You are the One who rescues and redeems. You wash and renew. And you abide in all those who believe.
Confession:
Forgive me for not always living by the Spirit that you have generously poured into me. So often, I get led astray by my selfish desires and errant thoughts. I say and do things that I regret!
Thanksgiving:
Thank you for your mercy that washes over me time and again. You do not count my sins against me, but rather, you have made me “white as snow.” Thank you that I do not have to earn your love by doing everything perfectly; rather, you patiently help me grow.
Supplication:
Please help me to submit to your Spirit in all circumstances—in differing temptations, in difficult relationships, and in unknown plans. Help me each day, each moment, to listen to your voice instead of react in my flesh. Please give me the desire to obey your word so that others will see Christ in me. I pray all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.

I love this Titus passage! Wow, God is so merciful and kind as he voluntarily came into our mess in order to save us, cleanse us, and abide in us! What are some immediate and long-term benefits of choosing to submit to his Spirit rather than reacting in the flesh? For me personally, I have learned that it creates more peace in my relationships.
Please share if you feel led.
