ACTS - A Way to Pray

Psalm 29: 1-5, 9

Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness. The voice of the Lord is over the waters, the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon…The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth and strips the forests bare, and in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

A Prayer using the above Scripture and ACTS

Adoration:

God, You are full of glory and strength, and your powerful voice speaks life over death and order into chaos.

Confession:

I don't pause enough to recognize Your power. If I did it would change the way I communicate with you. It would change the frequency I enter into conversation with You.

Thanksgiving:

I am so thankful that You are still speaking into and to creation. Thank you that You remain involved in your creation. You didn't create and then leave us. I'm grateful for you continuous involvement.

Supplication:

Please speak clearly to me today. Speak with power and clarity over my circumstances.

Use these verses and ACTS to write your own personal prayer in your journal.

Ladies, sometimes it's difficult to discern the voice of the Lord. It can be difficult to remain hopeful that God will speak and answer. Hearing from other Believers helps to build our faith. Can you share a time when God directed you with His voice? Our stories will be different, but our faith can be strengthened as we hear how God guides in other lives.

Weekend Prayer - God, thank you for the prayer examples we have from the Bible. Thank you for the teachers and mentors that invest in our lives to teach us important things like prayer. As we enjoy our weekend, show us the glory of Your creation; in the world and in Your people. Amen.
