ACTS: A Way to Pray

Isaiah 30: 20-21

And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or to the left.

Adoration: Heavenly Father, You are the one and only teacher and guide I will ever need. When affliction and difficulties come, you are there with me. You direct my each step to form a path of your choosing for me.

Confession: Forgive me, Father when I take back the reins and think I have a better way to go. Time and again, I do this and why? Forgive me when I turn a blind eye and a deaf ear towards you and choose to be disobedient. Please forgive me when I choose other things rather than your Word that is packed full of instruction meant to guide me towards a life better than anything I can construct for myself.

Thanksgiving: Once again I am eternally grateful for you loving me through my disobedience. You always know the way I should go and freely offer guidance, counsel, discernment, and wisdom that I cannot gain anywhere else in this world. I am thankful you are my Shepherd lovingly guiding me in the path you have custom designed for me. No one else can come close to anything you are.

Supplication: Father, will you give me a listening heart that can tune out the noise? Please give me and my loved ones a desire to be obedient to you. When the world starts to pull at my heart, please pull it right back into your loving arms where I can see and hear your direction. Your word says you will show us the way to go and you will guide our every step. I ask for that blessing over the ones I love.

Use these verses and ACTS to write your own personal prayer in your journal.
