ACTS: A Way to Pray

Thursday, January 20 ACTS: A Way to Pray

1 Timothy 6:15b-16 He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.

Adoration: Dear Heavenly Father, I am in awe of You! You are Sovereign, King over all kings and Lord over all lords. You existed before the worlds were created and are immortal! Blessed be Your Name, which is above all names in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth, and before Whom all must bow. All honor and dominion are Yours forever! You are the Light that is the source of all light—so holy and bright that we cannot approach You. Yet, amazingly, as one of Your children, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, You ask me to come freely and boldly to You. So, I come to You, Abba Father, with my prayer.

Confession: I confess all the times I have made selfish or arrogant decisions, as if I were a “king” or a “lord,” forgetting Who You are and who I am. Forgive me, too, when I get so caught up in my everyday activities that I lose sight of Your Truth and Your Word and Your calling on my life.

Thanksgiving: Thank you, God, that You are always in control, and that my mistakes cannot derail Your Plan. I know that even when things seem to go wrong, You will work all things out for good because You love me and You have called me according to Your purpose. I trust that You always know what is best, even when I can’t see a way out of my situation. Because You are Sovereign, not even a sparrow can fall to the ground without You knowing. It is so reassuring that You care about every detail of my life. Thank you for loving me, protecting me and equipping me for what You have called me to do.

Supplication: Lord God, let me remember Who You are and that You are my King and Lord as I live each day. I submit my whole self to You. Let your Holy Spirit flood me to overflowing with Your Presence. Lord bless my friends and family. Reveal Yourself to them and draw them near You. Align me with Your Will so that everything I do and say can be used to bring others into a loving relationship with You. In Jesus’ Name and for the Father's glory, Amen.

Use these verses and ACTS to write your own personal prayer in your journal.

Is there someone in your life that you are praying over that you need God to draw them near? Feel free to share and we will pray that name with you.
