Peace with others
Focus of the week: Sharing the good news brings God’s peace
Romans 10:8-17
And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? ...As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10:14-15
There’s no coincidence that I’ve been thinking about feet lately, to be more specific- about how desperately I need a pedicure because I haven’t had one since February- pre-COVID! Some of you may be in my same “shoes”. The good news is in Romans 10:15, the message isn’t about the beauty in the physical appearance of our feet. It’s about where our feet take us and what kind of work we do once they get us there. Our feet take us to people who need to hear us speak the truth about the saving grace of Jesus. Romans Chapter 10 teaches us about the impact of God’s word and the promise of salvation. God is asking each of us to share his good news (gospel of peace) with others: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (v. 9). Getting the word of God out to people is strategic to God’s offer of salvation. In verse 17, Paul summarizes: “So then faith comes by hearing the message, and the message is heard by the word of God.”
How beautiful are the “feet” of those who get the Word out to the people who need to hear it!
Here are some questions we can ask ourselves as we reflect on the beauty of our feet.
If God looked at my feet, would he say they are beautiful?
If the footsteps of my days were drawn on a map, where would they show that I’ve been?
Would my feet have been used to help get the message of eternal life to other people?
Where do my feet need to take me next?
I don’t know about you, but I want beautiful feet in the sight of God! And I believe we can all have beautiful feet if we put them to work in proclaiming such a great message from our Savior.
Continue to pray for where your feet should be directed. Pray for the person who the Lord is laying heavy on your heart and ask God to give you the words, written or spoken, as well as the opportunity to share the good news of our Savior. Get ready to march those beautiful feet!!

Dear Lord,
My heart’s desire is to praise you and proclaim your name so others will know what you have done. I call on the Holy Spirit to help me as I step out of my comfort zone and spread your Word and promises for those who need to hear about your love and saving grace. I want others to see you in me through my actions and hear the Truth from my words so they have faith and BELIEVE!! It is indeed a pleasure to serve you and spread your Good News. May my feet be beautiful in your sight. Amen
