Peace Within

Knowing and Believing in God’s Character Brings Peace

"But the people of Israel walked on the dry ground through the sea, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left." Exodus 14:29

Please read Exodus 14:10-29

Sometimes when I read a magazine or newspaper, I scan the headlines to see what peaks my interest. When I find articles that “WOW” me I become engrossed in the stories and want share them with others. Well, in our devotion scripture today I am WOWED by God’s greatness and how he works wonders. There are no limits for him. We see how he worked miracles for his people and can do anything according to his will. We should all take note of how he works for our good. “His marvelous doings are headlines news (Psalm 145:6).”

Let’s get engrossed in our scripture reading and look at some of the wonders in the story of God parting the Red Sea through his appointed leader, Moses.

Here are just a few:

…the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them (v. 19) --God moves on behalf of his people.

…and Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided (v. 21) –God provides a way.

…and in the morning watch the Lord in the pillar of fire and of cloud looked down on the Egyptian forces and threw the Egyptian forces into a panic (v. 24) –God gives peace to his children, and he gives panic to their enemies.

These are just a few of the wonders- that only God could have done. He is able to do anything, including provide a passage to freedom. Do you feel like you are stuck or in an impossible situation that you can’t get out of? You should find “peace within” knowing that he wants to work wonders for you. Let him know that you need a parting of the sea! Believe in him and have faith. He is the God of Moses and He is our God today!

Feel the peace and acknowledge his greatness. Let his wonders WOW you!
