Made For This -- "Focused & Steady"

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called. 1 Timothy 6:12

Just like yesterday, I'm going to ask that you read the entire section on your own today; pages 253 through 258. Make sure you respond to Jennie's questions and spend time reflecting on our scripture.

I'm very aware that many of you are running your race like there is an Enemy on your tail. You know what God has called you to do, and you are doing it. But, you remember a time when things were moving slowly. You remember when every step was labored and every outcome seemed wrong. Would you tell us about that today? In the comments, would you encourage us with your own experience of perseverance so that we can keep running our race?

Some of you are just as lost on day 38 as you were on day 1, and that can feel hopeless. I want you to know that you're not alone. I've received some answers. But, there are still several places where it seems I've overestimated what could be done in a few years and am running out of patience to see what can happen in 10. Would you share your struggle with us? In the comments, would you give us as many (or as little) words as you're comfortable sharing so that we can pray for you?

The rest of us may find ourselves somewhere in the middle today. It's ok to stay there for a little bit, but I believe God wants us moving. It seems to me that our best lives are lived on the go/on a mission with God. If you find yourself in a slump.... no idea what you should be doing and no real concern with figuring it out.... would you please consider finding a trusted friend to pray with? None of us want to sit on the sidelines while a sister in Christ is struggling to breathe in her own race. You've got sisters to lean on, to pray with, to learn from. "No weapon formed against you will prosper...." (Isaiah 54:17)

Jesus, we are so grateful to be part of a body of believers. Today, some of my friends need to encourage by sharing victories from their story. Others need to confess a feeling of confusion in order to receive prayer. Finally, I have friends that are stuck in a rut when we need to be running a race. We proclaim that our Enemy has no place here. He's scheming to take sisters out of the race, and we want him to be exposed. I pray for the sister that sidelined herself, and I ask the Jennie's words along with this community will give here the courage to reach out and up to ask for help. Rescue, restore, and redeem, Jesus. Thank you and amen.

PS -- How interesting that Jennie spoke about If: Women in our lesson today, and her next gathering (virtually) is scheduled for Saturday, the day after we finish our study. For only $20, you can get a full day's event from the comfort of your own home. I'm including the registration link just in case you want to participate on Saturday.
