Made For This - "Feeding Your Passions"

"Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it," "I cannot do it," Joseph replied to Pharaoh, "but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires."

Yesterday, I did a thing. Early in 2020, I began to feel a stirring in my heart to attend Bible College or Seminary or something that would give me more of an understanding of the Bible and how to study it. I have ZERO interest in getting another degree, but I am very interested in being taught.

I searched some programs casually and then COVID hit. I decided it wasn't the time and tried to let that dream go. This week, I learned about a Bible College that works through churches. Their students take classes virtually and nearly everything for a Master's in Biblical Studies is done online over a two year period. I completed the application process in an afternoon, did a phone interview this evening, and will hear tomorrow what they've decided.

I have not idea what their decision will be. But, I know that I was obedient. After reading this section of our book, I'm realizing that "fear of man" is the #1 reason why I didn't move forward in this calling before....

What if I can't do it and have to quit? What will people think?

What will people think when they hear I've added something else to my full plate?

Are people going to think I want to be a pastor? Can women even be pastors?

Why would I let these thoughts hinder me from fully obeying God's leading? What is keeping you from fighting for your passion? Are you afraid of people's opinions? Have you gotten stuck in a comparison trap? Could you take one bold step in the direction of a dream and see where God leads next?

Jennie's words will ring in my head and heart all day long, You have a race that no one else can run. So please race.

Please race, sister. we need you! Jesus followers should be the bravest people on the planet. The Spirit of the Living God lives inside of you and me. I just think we ought to act like it.

How can you purse your passions today? Thankfully, we get to trust God with outcomes. We just have to be faithful in the day to day.

Pages 193 through 196 include important concepts and questions that will help us remain bold in our callings and any new passions.

Jesus, thank you for lessons like we had today! Of course, you are the Creator and the initiator of any good gift in me. But, you invite me to participate in the fight to make these passions come to life in a calling. We are resting in your guidance. Help us to run the race with eyes fixed on you.
