Made For This - Your Story

I feel like today is an extension from Michon’s on Tuesday, if you didn’t get a chance to read her post go back and spend some time on it as well. This day is where Jennie specially wants us to think about... Our story. The intimate parts of your life....those great moments where you felt complete joy to those dark moments that you wish could be hidden. All of the moments that God intends to use for good. Our Heart-wrenching things are still birthing something.

Our life is an arrow going upward toward Heaven and those moments are points on that arrow. Maybe your arrow looks like Joseph’s did. Just one example from his life I thought about. How could being taken away from his family ever be good? But it was. He was able to meet needs that he couldn’t have otherwise. He had compassion that came through his suffering. On pg 128 I starred this sentence “ sure our stories lead us toward our purposes, but they also make us into people strong enough to fulfill our purposes” . You may think ahead that you aren’t strong enough to survive something, but God can give us that strength when needed. I know at times I worry what will happen to my kids with this world the way it is. The thing is God knows! I don’t have to spend my time worrying about that, because just like Joseph’s life and my life and from now until eternity we are on HIS arrow. He knows my story and he gives me strength in that story.

I encourage you today to spend some time thinking about those memories, some are foggy, some are painful, some are joyous (luckily we get to remember all!) and start trying to build a picture of your story on pages 129-130 in the book.

(I also encourage you seasoned ladies to break up the 25+ age bracket—a lot of things have happened in my life since that time and I found it easier to put in additional 5 year increments!)

Hebrews 12:1-2 Philippians 1:6

Dear Lord, Thank you so much that we are not the ones in charge. You are the one that we can trust when we feel like “how this could ever be part of my story” I pray we turn those questions to you. I pray that you give us the strength to go through those gut-wrenching moments. I pray that we make sure we are present and in the moment when we are experiencing those times of pleasure. Thank you for writing our story. Please be with each Soul Sister today as she tries to chart her highlights and sufferings in her life. Amen
