Made For This -- Forty Days of Purpose

"We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10

Please read "Praying Anything" in Made For This (pages 3-6).

I don't know about you, but Jennie Allen's words in this section make me want to get up and GO! I'm with her. I am sick and tired of normal, traditional, safe, and BORING!

But, am I willing to do anything? Are you?

"The world has yet to know what God will do with a man (woman) fully consecrated to Him." (Henry Varley)

That statement could be true. But, what if we spent the next 40 days trying to figure that out? What might happen if not ONE woman but 2,900 women chasing full surrender?

I'm excited, ladies. I'm ready to get going. I can't wait to hear from YOU. I'm asking one GIANT favor from you.... BE ALL IN. Don't worry. I'm asking the same thing of myself. Each and every day, we will have some guided scripture reading along with very introspective questions to ask ourselves. Don't skip them even if you have to come back to them later. I believe the life we want to live is just on the other side of following Jesus through the depths of this 40 day journey.

As you pour over the book and Scripture, journal any and all thoughts. Jennie is going to push. We've got some hard work to do if we are going to chase a life filled with purpose. So, let's go! I'm excited.

This song is perfect for the starting point of our journey together.

Now, complete pages 7 and 8 in your book. As you reflect, consider sharing with us your answers to our 2 daily questions. From the passages of scripture (Ephesians 2:10 and Acts 17:26), who is the Lord? What does He want from you?

Heavenly Father, I can't thank you enough for this study. My word for this year is "awaken." At every turn, I've heard you say to me, "Wake up. Participate. Live and invite others to live." So, with much anticipation, I'm saying that I'll do anything! In the same breath, I'm asking You to give me the courage to continue agreeing with anything. I'm asking You to do BIG things in and through my sisters and me. We give you the journey and as You to make us want what you want in it. Amen.

For those that don't have the book yet....

  1. Write your own definition of surrender. What is it?

  2. What does surrender cost?

  3. What is the outcome of surrender for you?

  4. In what ways, if any, are you sick of "normal"?

  5. Think about wanting to be right with God at the end of your life rather than right with all the people in it. Can you discern between these two right now? What are the differences?

  6. What do you need to let go of to offer your life and all that is in it to the Lord?

  7. Here at the beginning, what do you hope to gain from this journey? Why do you think God has brought you to this point?

What will your story be? Read Acts 17:26 and Ephesians 2:10 and answer....

  1. Who are you, Lord?

  2. What do You want for me?
