Forty Days of Praise -- Game Changer

For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.

Colossians 1:13

Heartbeat of God, page 113

For some reason, I’m so very excited about this title of our good God today. Could anyone use a “game change” right about now?

For a couple of weeks, I’ve been encouraging others to rest during this time of uncertainty, because we know is ultimately in control. We can remain at rest, because He is sovereign.

I’ve tried to inspire anyone around me to trust God’s provision even when earthly provision seems to be running thin. He multiplies the resources even when we think we don’t have enough.

I’ve even pushed for my cirlces to focus on the positive things that have come from this crisis, because God really does use all things to work for His good.

Those things are true and right. Those reminders cause us to focus on a God that cares for His children perfectly even when the circumstances don’t change.

You know what I haven’t done yet? I haven’t encouraged myself or my realm of influence to call on the God that can absolutely change the game, the story, the outcomes of a virus.

What if we did that today, girls? I don’t watch the news much. I only listen to the details of what I need to know for my family and my preschool. In that little bit of information, I know that we are watching the numbers of the countries that experienced the outcomes of the virus before us. I know that people who are smarter than I am are charting the “path” like a hurricane and trying to predict what will happen here.

Our God can change the outcome, because He is a Game Changer. If you don’t believe me (or if you just want to remind yourself), read through all of the scripture provided today. The God who changed the game in each of those stories is the God that still rules today. Let’s collectively cry out to Him today.

Praise: God, You were, You are, and You will always be the Game Changer. We ask You to change the game today. I’m asking you to do it in a way that people are shocked, amazed, and awed. Would you settle this virus, silence the fear, and stabilize our economy? You could do it in a word, and today I feel empowered to ask You to do it for the sake of Your great name and for the goodness of all involved. God, protect us from being too scared to ask for our big requests and help us to have the vision to see You at work always. We can’t wait to watch how You choose to change this event.
