Audacious -- Week 12

Wednesday: (August 21st)

Read: John 10:10

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. (NASB)

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows. (Amplified)

A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. (Message)

Reflect: The verse is short, but the words pack a punch. Honestly, I can’t think of a better verse to sum up this chapter and this book.

Enjoy Jesus!

Live in His fullness!

Life may be a wild and scary ride, but that’s better than boring!

Even if your heart is racing or your knees are knocking, I pray you’re agreeing with me. Let’s just do it!

Respond: I’m not usually cheesy. Typically, I just don’t have it in me. If an idea pops in my head and there’s any hint of cheesy-ness, I will wipe that idea away quick and in a hurry. BUT, this chapter has me singing a song straight out of the 90’s. It was the theme song of the camp I worked with during the summer of 1994. Maybe audacity is taking over, because I simply must include it for you to listen to even if you chuckle at it a little. :)

Renew: What do you think? Are you ready to “saddle up?” Heels or no heels, we are called to the great adventure! I just don’t want to miss it! I don’t want YOU to miss it.

I’d like for you to play this song over and over (if you can handle the sound of 1994 on repeat) and journal every single thought that comes to mind about living the great adventure. Turn those notes into prayers as you ask Jesus to empower you to risk it all and go for the fullness of this journey.

Run hard and fast in the faith. Seize the eternal life, the life you were called to, the life you so fervently embraced in the presence of so many witnesses.
