WE GO: Connecting Passion and Purpose

Jesus replied, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40

We are each His beautiful vessel, called to pour out the light and love of Christ; therefore, WE GO...

I don’t remember a time in my life where I didn’t know Jesus. I officially committed my life to Him at Emmanuel Baptist Church at the age of twelve and was baptized soon thereafter. And life continued on…I prayed, I went to church, I tried to be a good person and confessed my sins regularly. As an adult, I helped with Bible School, attended church committee meetings, and I read my Bible…when I had the time. I was confident of my salvation through Christ, but my spiritual life was anything but passionate. Honestly, it was dry as toast.

In August 2015 everything changed for me. I went through a 40 Day devotional book that helped me see our God in a different way and grow closer with Him in ways I had never experienced. I became hungry for His word and craved quiet time just listening for His still small voice. It was life changing for me and I wanted everyone I knew to know about how good our God is! So, I bought a case of the little books and began getting them in to the hands of people I loved. And as I shared this book, I realized that there were so many women out there, just like me. They knew God, they loved Him, but they were just going through the motions. (This is actually the seed that began Soul Sisters. And that’s when it happened. I felt a stirring in my heart to share with women how much their Heavenly Father loved and adored them. All of a sudden, I began to connect the dots between my passion and purpose, and I wanted to help other women do the same. I didn’t really have a plan for how I was going to do this, but I knew I was being called to share. So, every day I began to ask for God to use me in small ways, “Let people see YOU in my eyes, Lord!” I asked for God to use me in BIG ways, “Lord, I don’t know what it looks like, but I will follow You through every door of opportunity to share Your love with others. I am Yours; use me…use me BIG!” And although I am quite sure I miss the mark daily, He has been faithful. He’s placed women searching for Him in my car, in my home, in my workplace and in my social media following. He has opened opportunities for me to share the good news of our Lord’s love in groups both big and small, on-line through my writing and on land through my speaking for Soul Sisters and beyond.

Ladies, I am not Biblical scholar, I’m simply a woman who is in love with her Savior. I’m passionate, I’m open, and I’m seeking ways to know Him and share Him with others who want a life filled with the abundant riches of the Spirit that can only come from our Eternal King! I have no clue how He will use me today, but I am confident that I am called to GO and passionately share when the opportunities, BIG or small are presented to me.

I KNOW He will do the same for you. Seek Him and ask Him how He wants to use you, and follow Him in Faith! When WE GO where he calls us, we will find our passion and our purpose!

Dear Lord,

We thank you for creating us on purpose for a purpose. Please help each of us discover the BIG and small ways that you want to use us. Help us pursue You Passionately as WE GO in the direction that you nudge us. I pray, Father, for every Soul Sister to know you in such a way that YOUR light radiates in them and through them for all the world to see! In the precious name above all names, Jesus, we pray! Amen
