He WILL Provide Glorious Transformation in Heaven for You

Philippians 3:20-21, For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into the conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

When I was growing up, my mom would often repeat a single phrase every time I complained. If she said this phrase once, she said it a thousand times, and it made me crazy. When I felt wronged, or angry, or taken advantage of, it wouldn’t do any good to run to Mom with a report, because her standard answer was, “Amy, life isn’t fair.”

At the time, it offered me no help. At the time, it was the opposite of help…. It was an irritation. I wanted her to console me, but she wanted to offer theological truth. And, she was right. In this world, ladies, we will absolutely face troubles. Many of them are not fair. We will experience dysfunction in relationships. Some of us will face life threatening illnesses in ourselves or in those we love. The people in charge of us will lead poorly, and we won’t be able to control it at all. This list could go on and on, because life on earth is fragile, uncertain, and UNFAIR!

We can still celebrate, though, because we’ve learned this week that God provided a Savior. He provides healing and restoration. He also provides daily provisions. When Jesus left Earth to return to Heaven, He left His Spirit to lead us and guide us from within. He’s very good! I pray that you’ve spent plenty of time this week reflecting and journaling all of the provisions He’s made for you. Life may not be fair, but God offers HIMSELF right in the middle of it. So, He works it all for good.

But, there’s something else unfair. I read about it in the 23rd chapter of the gospel of Luke. While Christ hung on the cross dying a sinner’s death EVEN THOUGH He’d lived a perfect life, a man hung next to him that had earned his spot on his cross. He looked to Jesus for forgiveness. Not only did Jesus grant forgiveness, but this man entered Heaven THAT VERY DAY with Christ. See, there’s nothing fair about grace. We look to God’s provision of Christ for forgiveness, and He fully forgives, fully restores, and fully transforms. As believers, there will come a day when our struggle with sin ends, and we will step into eternity like Christ. We will be whole! We can’t earn it, but we do get to receive it. I pray you'll celebrate this future gift and provision today.

God, thank you for your daily provision. We don’t want to get so focused on what you WILL DO for us when our time on earth ends that we find ourselves just surviving any season of life. You are good, and You have provided all that we need for life and Godliness now. But, today, we want to celebrate that You have prepared a home for us in Heaven. We thank you that we get to look forward to a day when our bodies will be whole, complete, and perfect. Until then, we will rest in the fact that we wear YOUR righteousness in Christ Jesus. Amen.
