"Because He Said So! Discovering who the I AM says I am"

The I AM says I am transformed!

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

Whether it is learning how to win friends and influence people, become more fit, control emotions, get rich, find a meaningful relationship, communicate more effectively, or become a better leader, people want to experience transformation. The Personal Development Industry is evidence of that with all of the books, podcasts, webinars, workshops, and seminars. It is currently an 11-billion-dollar industry and it is on the rise because people are desperate for change. Now don’t get me wrong, I happen to enjoy reading books and attending conferences that equip me with ideas of ways to be a better version of myself. I love absorbing knowledge on how to more effectively add value to people and to not just communicate, but to connect with them. I even work for one of the foremost authorities in the field, Dr. John C Maxwell. And as a life coach, I consult with people every day who are craving transformation in their lives. I have a true passion for helping people connect the dots between their passion and their purpose.

Fortunately, the answer to living a transformed life can indeed be found in a book! The answer can be found in The Good Book – The Bible! All the instructions that we ever need to experience true transformation are right there in the red words. When we sit still spending time in the presence of God, and pour ourselves into the reading of His word, we experience a renewing of our minds. Experiencing life transforming change begins with accepting the sacrifice of Jesus and allowing the Holy Spirit into our lives to guide us and make us new. True transformation isn’t about implementing a simple strategy into your morning routine or changing an item on your daily to-do list. True transformation is about a change of heart. It’s about putting Christ first, others next, and self last. It’s not about growing more of yourself; it’s about giving more of yourself. It’s about confessing our sins and our need for a savior to rescue us from ourselves. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we are reminded, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

Like the blob of clay that the potter throws on his wheel may we allow God to mold our lives to His will. May He transform our blob into a beautiful vessel for Him. “Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23). Sister, my prayer is that we will not only experience true transformation but thirst for it daily. That we will wake up every morning feeling a little differently than we did the day before. It is my prayer that we seek every day to grow closer to God by focusing on Him more and ourselves less. That the transformation is so profound that we actually look and act more like Him. So today, remind yourself when you look in the mirror that by trusting God today, you won’t be the same tomorrow. And, because of the work of The Potter’s hand, proudly proclaim, “I am transformed…because He said so!”

Dear Lord,

I praise You today for all that You are; You are the Creator of the Universe, the King of kings and Lord of lords. You are the I AM! I know that You created me on purpose for a purpose. I am who You say I am. The enemy wants to hold me back from living out the calling You have placed on my life. Lord, saturate my mind with the truth of Your Word so that I may remember that my identity is found in You and only You. Remind me throughout the day, when the world comes tumbling in, that You are in control. Reveal Your will in my life as I only want to please You. No matter how difficult my day becomes I will remember that I can do all things through You (Phil 4:13). In Jesus' name. Amen
