Day 21

He Came to Give Love

John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends…

Romans 5:5

…and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

I Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in un- righteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all thing, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

I John 4:16

And we have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

My Child,

I came to give you love. There is no greater love on this earth than the love that I possess for you. I took off my crown of righteousness and replaced it with a crown of thorns so that you could live with Me now and forever. I did not have to do this; I wanted to.

Immanuel

Dear Heavenly Father,

I am overwhelmed by your love for us. I thank you that your love reaches us no matter where we go and what experience we are in the midst of. If we climb the highest mountain you are there. And, when we are in the darkest valley of our lives, you are there. If we ever wonder what love really means or looks like, turn our heads to you. For you are love and you loved us first. Teach us today to always show you gratitude for your love, spread your love and love you more. Help us to rest in Your love that asks nothing more than the simple trusting heart of a child.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
