Celebrating Who Jesus is and Why HE Came - Jesus is The Redeemer

Tuesday, November 27th

Praying over the roles of Jesus and studying scripture helps me to know Jesus at a more intimate level. Learning more about who He is and what He does also increases my thankfulness for Him and His ways. Today we are on Day 2 of our Christmas Devotional.

(Note- If you are following along using the hard copy of “Christmas Devotional” by Chris Baxter, Jesus is Redeemer is on page 23. Due to Soul Sisters posting only on the weekdays, we have selected 18 of the 25 days of the hard copy to post. Books are optional, but can be purchased at respitefortheweary.com.)

Celebrating Who Jesus Is and Why HE Came?

Jesus is The Redeemer

Titus 2:14

(Christ Jesus) gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every law- less deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good works.

Galatians 3:13-14

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.” He redeemed us in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Job 19:25

And as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives…

Psalm 103:1,4

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name… who redeems your life from the pit; who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion.

Isaiah 43:1

Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!

My Child, I am your Redeemer. I paid your ransom with My life so that you could be set free from sin and death. It was My life for yours. Remember the good news: I rose again from the dead in order to give you My Spirit. I am calling your name; let me redeem you. I can make beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

Immanuel

Thank you, My Redeemer, for paying my ransom and setting me free. You never cease to amaze me with your unconditional love and daily forgiveness. You rescue and transfer me from dark places to your presence. No matter what I do, how far I fall or how bad I fail, you always lift me up and lavish me with your love and compassion. Today I want to proclaim to the world that all that I am and all that I have belongs to you. May all I do be used for your glory!

In your name I pray. Amen
