Made For This -- Leaving Behind/Moving Toward

If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

I love the simplicity of this lesson. On day 39 of a 40 day journey, the temptation is to get too deep and too difficult in the application. Today, keep it basic.

What do you need to leave behind?

What are you moving toward?

This week, I was led to a passage of scripture that is very meaningful to me. Honestly, I can't tell you why. It just touches me deeply and affects me greatly. It's Deuteronomy 30. I love the picture of Moses in his old age sharing life's lessons with a group of people that he'd led through challenge and difficulty. They're leaving behind bondage and moving toward freedom. Moses couldn't go with them any longer, so he had some things he wanted to say to them before his death.

Please read Deuteronomy 30 with the mindset of leaving behind to move forward with God. I read it in my NASB and then The Message Version. I just can't read this chapter without a few tears.

I want to encourage you to read pages 259 through 262 in Made For This and fill in all the blanks. In order to move forward, what do you need to let go of?

What verses or lessons from our study will you need to hold on to for strength and focus to move forward as God is directing? Will you write them out in the comments. Share with us, because we may need the reminder too.

I'm praying for you, sister, as you let go of some things that are weighing down and hindering this journey. Letting go isn't easy, but it might just be the first step in obedience. So, choose life in order that you may live....

What do you want us to let go of, God? We are focused and ready for our next steps with you, and we want to release anything that hinders and lay hold of the blessings you've prepared for us. Protect us from letting what we can't do hinder us from doing what we can. In Your presence is fullness of life, and we want to experience it. Thank you for this study, for each other, and for the journey ahead. We are just beginning, and we are ready to follow you fully.
