God promises to do more than we can imagine.
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. Jeremiah 33:3
All promises are fulfilled in Christ.
Read Matthew 14:13-21.
I love that we are looking at imagination in a story that many of us have heard forever. As I’ve prepared this post, I have been convicted that the nature of my upbringing has actually been the source of squelching my imagination at times. Familiarity often breeds complacency. My Savior, Jesus Christ, took 5 loaves and 2 fish and multiplied them to feed more than 5,000 people (likely more than 10,000 including women and children). That’s only one of the many, many miracles that He did while He lived on Earth. He’s a miracle working Savior.
What stands out to me today is Jesus’ statement to the disciples when they requested that He send all the people away, “There is no need to dismiss them. You give them supper.” (verse 16, The Message)
As was the case in this passage, Jesus typically does amazing and miraculous things through His followers. He could have fed the 5,000 any number of ways. He’s God. Yet, He chose the disciples to be the ones to find the food, distribute the food, and package up the leftover food so that they could experience Christ’s power in a personal way.
I believe He does the same thing today. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He is still in the business of multiplying resources for the purpose of providing for needs and spreading His Gospel. And, He’s still inviting us to participate.
This is why I’m so excited about our summer study. Ladies, for 40 days, we are going to search God’s Word to hear His personal invitation to join Him in Kingdom work. We are going to figure out what has stopped us from being fully present with Jesus in His plans. I am praying that we will be reminded that God can do more than we could ever imagine in a way that makes us commit to show up for His plans every, single day.
Please, please, please order your book today. I want ALL of you to be ready for His next step for us on the first day, Monday, June 22nd. I can’t wait to study, investigate, and accept some challenges with you.
Is there a vision that you have for your life, your family, your community, or the world? Have you lost hope in every seeing that vision come to life? Can we pray for renewed vision today by remembering what God did in and through Jesus while He walked on this Earth and confessing our trust that He is still at work today? We simply can’t imagine what He will do with willing participants.

Heavenly Father, You are able to accomplish so much more than I can imagine. You don’t need me to help you, yet you’ve invited me anyway. What a joy and a privilege! Sadly, my humanity, my fear, and my concern for what others may think cripple me. Today, I’ve been reminded that You are at work in the lives of people, and I want to join you. As we wrap up with one more week of studying Your promises, please encourage our hearts in a way that gives us the boldness necessary to be all that You’ve created us to be and to do all that You’ve made us to do. We really don’t want to miss out, and we don’t want the ones that we love to miss what You’ve determined to do through us.
