Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me.

The definition of persistent is fairly simple, continuing firmly or obstinately in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition. I believe we’d all agree that our God is a persistent God. The Bible is a very long story that details His firm continuance to pursue a relationship with us.
2 Peter 3:9 says, the Lord isn’t slow in keeping his promise….. he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. I’m so thankful that God has always been patiently persistent with His call on my life.
I wonder how many people there are in this world that are suddenly opening their eyes to a God who’s been calling them for a long period of time. We’re hearing stories of people who have never been open to the Gospel of Christ suddenly tuning in to online church services because they're anxious, scared, and looking for answers. Often, difficulty leads us to depend on God in a way that we never would otherwise. Wouldn’t you love to be part of God’s persistence in someone’s life?
I read Acts 5: 33-42 which details the rapid growth and persecution of the early church. Peter and the apostles were imprisoned, beat, and bruised for sharing what they knew about Jesus. Yet, they would not stop. In fact, after being flogged and then released from prison, verse 42 says that they kept on teaching and preaching Jesus Christ. That's persistence inspired by Christ!
See, when God’s persistence transforms us, we can’t help but be persistent too.Last Friday, I encouraged everyone to cry out to God, our Game Changer. Today, I’d love for us to borrow some of His persistence and blow up social media with praise for the One True God who will work miracles in the hearts of people through the difficulties associated with this virus.
I do believe that we can and should ask for a miracle to happen with this pandemic. I also believe our God can still work good in the middle of this scare. And, I’d like to be part of His goodness. Today, I’m going to share a verse, a song, or a sermon on my page and hope that God allows someone to scroll past it at the perfect time. He’s just determined enough to orchestrate something like that. People are watching! They are missing peace and joy and looking for an answer. I believe we have it, and I don’t want to waste the opportunity to share.
I’m including the link to a sermon that I believe will be encouraging. I also believe it will stir our hearts to be bold in delivering the Gospel creatively while people know they need it. We have this awesome opportunity to keep on teaching and preaching the Gospel, so let’s do it today.

God, You are Persistent, and we are so thankful. If there are 100 women reading this post, there are 100 different ways that You persistently called us to Yourself. You never run out of creativity or imagination, and you never run out of grace. Today, empower and strengthen us to be as bold. We believe that You’ve determined there will be a number of people that come to know and trust You because of the circumstances created with this virus. We believe that what seems like a crisis is actually the stage being set for You to make Yourself known. I ask ahead of time that You use our posts to cause people to turn to You in repentance for salvation.
