Forty Days of Praise - Leader

Thursday, March 12

Leader

“He leads me beside quiet waters.” Psalm 23:2

The Heartbeat of God: p. 140

God, You are my Leader! Just as a shepherd lovingly leads his sheep to quiet waters, You desire to take me to a place where I can catch my breath and get a new perspective on any situation. You want me to turn to You when I am stressed out. Why? Because when I am stressed, I focus on the wrong things. I zero in on money problems, work problems, family problems. I worry that I won’t have time to do everything on my endless “to do” list. God, I apologize for failing to put You first. As a result, my life gets all tangled up and I feel completely overwhelmed. Thank you, Lord, that you offer to “[lead] me beside quiet waters.” I have found that if I take time out every day to be in Your presence, You lead me to a place where I can unwind and regroup with You.

God, I want You to lead me every day through thick and thin. James reminds me that all I have to do is ask: “...you do not have because you do not ask.” I praise You because I know You are leading me to do what You have called me to do! I am so humbled that You position me to be in the right place at the right time to be a blessing to others.

Dear Lord, today please lead all of us toward the purpose that you’ve created us. In Your Presence may we find rest and restoration through your Spirit. In Your Presence we are given new direction and we are equipped to move forward according to Your Will. “I proclaim your love in the morning, your faithfulness at night.” Thank you for leading me every day closer and closer to where I need to be. I praise you, Lord, and ask that you lead us as we lead others to know You. May everyone we meet see You in our eyes! I love You beyond words! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
