In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
Heartbeat of God, p. 334
Since our header verse is short, I'm going to type it out one more time: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). Now, take just 30 to 60 seconds to close your eyes and envision God in action. Allow the Lord to guide your thoughts, and then...praise Him.
In your mind's eye, what did you see--the stars lining up in their proper places? Our planet being molded together? Gravity being set at the appropriate measure? All I can say is, WOW; and we haven't even gotten to the mountains and rivers, or plants and animals. Now take a few moments to envision these verses:
"And God said, 'Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness.'" Gen. 1:26
"But a mist used to rise from the earth and water the whole surface of the ground. Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man become a living being." Gen. 2:6-7
Did you see the careful intention as God formed Adam from the misty-dust of the earth? Did you feel the holy breath entering into his lungs for the very first time? From these verses, here are two beautiful truths for all mankind, which includes YOU and ME: we have been molded by God, and we have been inspired by God. Never never believe anything less that this awesome truth.
Let's praise the Lord together, recognizing He is magnificent in His abilities when we see mountain ranges and ocean waves, but let us also get One-on-one with our Creator and thank Him for His personal touch. YOU were His idea! The combination of your physical features, your eye color, your personality, your likes and dislikes, your literal and figurative heartbeat is like no one else's, past, present, or future. Praise Him for the privilege of being uniquely made... in His image...for such a time as this! Lift your hands up and thank Him for the breath He just gave you in this moment.
So, look outside today. Share with us something in the comments that makes you say "Wow" concerning His creation. And then, be still and look inward; realize this same God put you together with His molding love. Lift your unique finger-printed-hands and praise His name.

God, You are the Creator, "For You formed my inward parts; You weaved me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well" (Psalm 139:13-14). May the breath that continuously fills me become an outpouring of consistent praise. Amen.
