Reread this week’s scripture: Ruth 3:1-15 through Ruth 4: 1-2
I don’t know about you, but I believe redemption is one of the most beautiful words I know. It’s a word that I’m positive I didn’t truly understand as a young believer. It’s a word whose meaning you can’t really comprehend until you’ve experienced it first-hand.
The story of Ruth beautifully portrays redemption and illustrates the reality that Christ redeems. And, while most of us picture a deity that must be frustrated, disappointed, or even angry about the fact that humanity keeps needing redemption, Boaz shows us a determined kindness in his efforts towards Ruth.
Ladies, our God redeems, heals, and restores. He willtake all of the negative and use it for our good and His plan. He’s that powerful! It’s also His joy to do it. Our loving Father sent His son, and we are drawn by His kindness to repentance.
As you wrap up your quiet time today, listen to this song while reflecting on Ruth’s story. Take some time to journal and thank God for His redemption. He’s paid the price that covers all of our sin and shame. End your week with gratitude.
