Audacious -- Week 4

Read: Hebrews 4:16, Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us at the proper time.

Reflect: I wonder what it actually means to approach the throne of grace with boldness? We know that Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of God on the throne of grace, but how do we actually approach that seat…. With boldness?

Our scripture today began with the word “therefore” which always begs us to ask some questions about the words leading up to it. Prior to the author of Hebrews telling us that we must approach Jesus with audacity, he described WHO Jesus is. Look at the verses that lead into verse 16.

We don’t have a high priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all -- all but the sin. So, let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help. Hebrews 4: 14-16 (Message)

Ladies, could it be that we suffer from overthinking? Is it possible that approaching the throne of grace with BOLDNESS simply means accepting what Jesus came to give? I mean, He is finished! He is sitting down at the right hand of His Father. And, He’s instructing us to approach Him with boldness. What am I waiting for

In Acts 4, the first Christians lived with boldness. The audacity they had to live out their callings and share Jesus with the world didn’t come from degrees or experience. It came from knowing who Jesus was and accepting the Spirit He provided through His life and death. We could actually do the same thing! What if we did?

Respond: What are you fearful of? I’m sorry if this question is repetitive. I believe it needs to be this week. Let’s just call it out today, in week four of our summer study? Let’s not dance around it anymore. Spend some time this morning asking God to show you anything in your life that is causing fear to stand up and create an obstacle, a hindrance to you living boldly in God’s calling. But, today, ask God to give you some action steps to move out of that fear. Let’s stop analyzing the fear and make a plan to DO SOMETHING.

Renew: In an effort to FIGHT against Satan’s fear tactic, pray Ephesians 2:10 over your life today. You’re going to need to personalize this verse. I’m asking that you pray it until you begin to believe it in your core. I’m including mine just so you have an idea of what I’m asking you to do. I’ll be praying right along with you.

"For I am Your workmanship, God. I’ve been created in Jesus Christ for good works which You created beforehand that I could walk in them.”

When we believe this truth, nothing will stop us. We will charge any enemy that tries to get in the way of us achieving all that God prepared for us

Would you be so bold as to share something you believe your Heavenly Father is urging you to do? When we know that we are audaciously loved and audaciously cared for, I believe we will audaciously live!
