WE GO

We are each His beautiful and unique vessel, called to pour out the light and love of Christ; therefore, WE GO….

Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

When I was 11 years old, I started my role as “worker”. I became a mother’s helper. I loved the nurturing, playing and protecting that came along with the role, but I also learned a lot about responsibility and accountability. At the age of 15, I was ready for my first job outside of babysitting and continued to work hard and save money. I saved for my education, a new car, and all the expenses that came along with living on my own once I graduated. I then went on to college and then…..to work my dream job, as a flight attendant where I literally served and took care of others in the sky. My calling to help others, along with my desire to encourage people to lead a healthy lifestyle lead me to my next role in the health and wellness industry. Helping people along their journey to good health and assisting them along their continuum of care, is where God called me over 30 years ago and continues to call me today.

For me, work has been a gift from God. It is more than a means to help provide food, clothing, education, transportation and shelter. It has given me the opportunity to be His hands and feet in the workforce, share His light with others, start Bible studies and morning devotions, network with people, make friendships to be cherished forever, collaborate with others to provide resources that improve health and wellbeing, and to support those in need.

No matter how you are being called to work at this phase in your life, working a corporate job, taking care of a family member inside the home, leading an entrepreneur effort, writing a book or music, volunteering through a nonprofit organization, etc., Colossians 3:22-24 tells us that whatever you are called to do, you should work at it with all of your might. We are commanded to work with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. And, that no matter who you are working for and serving here on this earth, the Lord is ultimately the one you work for and are serving.

So now, I GO out into the world working and trusting God to use me for His purpose, all to glorify Him.

Dear Heavenly Master,

I pray the words of Psalm 90:17, “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on me; establish the work of my hands.” Whatever You call me to, I want to work hard and joyfully with all my heart and all my soul so that my work will point everyone to You. May the talents and gifts you blessed me with be used as You intend. Let me hear and obey the directions from You, my Boss; and let me work beside You, my C0-worker. Together we will get Your mission accomplished, all to glorify you.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
