Verse: John 14: 2-3
"In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go, I WILL come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also."
This first week of studying what the I AM says He will do has been incredible. On Monday, we were reminded that He created the entire world and people to fill it. Tuesday and Wednesday got a little more personal. Not only did God create an entire nation of people that would be His, He personally called and created each individual in that group. That's us, ladies! Yesterday, we celebrated that He calls us to new life in Him through salvation. Today's content is equally as exciting.
In John 14, Jesus was trying to explain to the disciples that life (for them) was about to change. In many ways, it would be more difficult. Their Leader, their Savior, their friend would no longer be walking with them physically. Can you imagine? In an instant, life would change forever. Compassionate Jesus was preparing them for His departure while encouraging them with the future. Because He was leaving, they'd one day be together again. This time, though, their togetherness would be eternal.
How exciting is it that Jesus makes the same promise to us? We are His. In Christ, God has created a new heart within us that longs for eternity with Him. And, while this life can be challenging, difficult, and uncertain, Jesus promises that His Spirit will remain with us until we can join Him in Heaven. He's preparing a place for you! Amazing!
I don't know if any of you remember, but the word I've chosen for 2019 is IMAGINE. God began showing me that this would be my word during November and December of last year. I want to live the kind of life that is FULL of experiences that can only be explained as the work of the Holy Spirit. I don't want to just wait until Heaven to experience the abundant life that God has planned. However, let's be real... Heaven IS the goal. And, I'm sure that I couldn't begin to imagine what my place in Heaven, the place prepared for me by Jesus Himself, will look like. But, I know He will do it, because He said so.

Dear God, thank you for sending Jesus to this earth as our Savior. I'm so grateful that He lived a very real life with very real followers so that we could apply His words to them to our own lives today. When life gets tough and a little uncertain, bring our focus back to You, to Your plans, and to the ultimate goal of spending eternity in Heaven with You. We know we don't deserve it, but we will absolutely receive it. And, until we see You face to face, give us perspective to enjoy abundant life (heave here) in all the fulness that You designed.
